Salem Sports and Breakfast Club started honoring a new group of high school athletes this past Friday morning at Goudy Commons on the Willamette University campus. We start the year with some follow-up from the 2019 spring season. The OSAA Track and Field Championships took place late enough in the 2018-19 school year that SSBC ran out of dates on which to honor some outstanding performances from Salem-Keizer athletes. We did manage to honor the outstanding senior athletes from the OSAA meet at our year end function before they moved on to the next phase in their lives. However we didn’t have enough time to honor the non-senior athletes. A good problem to have: strong track programs that shine when it matters most. So meet the non-seniors from last year’s championship meet that finished 1st, 2nd, or 3rd and brought home gold, silver, and/or bronze.
