Philomath — The legacy of Sage Kramer continues to grow in Philomath’s current basketball golden age, and on Tuesday she set another bar to add to the resume that she has built as a Warrior. In Philomath’s win over Woodburn, Kramer broke the single game scoring record with 51 points against the Bulldogs, adding an achievement that builds her legacy as arguably Philomath’s best player in school history.
As a freshman, Kramer became a breakout star on the 4A scene, helping the Warriors finish fifth in the 4A state tournament and earning 1st team all-state tournament honors. As a sophomore, Kramer finished as the 4A Player of the Year and had pushed Philomath on pace to a state title before the coronavirus wiped out the 4A tournament in March 2020. In her junior season, she finished as an all-state selection in the shortened Spring campaign, helping the Warriors finish state runner-up to Hidden Valley in the state championship at Marshfield High School.
This season, Kramer is on pace to help the Warriors win the 2022 4A title down in Coos Bay come March, continuing to shine in every role that Philomath puts her in. Now on February 8th, 2022, Kramer breaks the Philomath single-game scoring record with 51 points against Woodburn! The performance ranks as the second most in 4A history and third most in state history. What a resume and a career, with only a state title missing to complete the Triple Crown of athletic achievement, which looks extremely likely for Philomath this season.
