Creswell — It wasn’t just a good start for Cleveland’s Kyra Ly, it was a historically awesome start for the Oregon State commit. In the opening round at Emerald Valley in Creswell, Ly posted a 65 for the first round on Monday and seven strokes under par for the round. That performance ties the all-time record set first by South Salem’s Ellie Slama back in 2017. She leads by six strokes over Mountainside’s Sofia Fuenmayor and seven over Anna Poulin from Jesuit. Overall, Mountainside leads with 315 strokes, Jesuit is second at 322, West Linn and Lake Oswego come in after them with 331 and 334 respectively.
Prior to 6A’s afternoon session, 5A teed off bright and early on Monday morning.
