State Golf: Cleveland’s Kyra Ly Ties All-Time 6A Record, Current Leaderboards And Team Scores After Day 1

Creswell — It wasn’t just a good start for Cleveland’s Kyra Ly, it was a historically awesome start for the Oregon State commit. In the opening round at Emerald Valley in Creswell, Ly posted a 65 for the first round on Monday and seven strokes under par for the round. That performance ties the all-time record set first by South Salem’s Ellie Slama back in 2017. She leads by six strokes over Mountainside’s Sofia Fuenmayor and seven over Anna Poulin from Jesuit. Overall, Mountainside leads with 315 strokes, Jesuit is second at 322, West Linn and Lake Oswego come in after them with 331 and 334 respectively.

Class 5A

Prior to 6A’s afternoon session, 5A teed off bright and early on Monday morning. North Eugene Freshman Francesca Tomp shot an opening round 72, good enough to lead Wilsonville’s Paris Wilhelm by six strokes and Crescent Valley’s Mercedes Marriott by seven strokes after Day 1. Wilsonville leads the team standings with 372 strokes, Silverton is second at 393, while Corvallis (402) and La Salle Prep (403) round out the Top 4.

Class 4A/3A/2A/1A

Over in Central Oregon, Class 4A/3A/2A/1A has two girls tied for the lead after the first round: Riley Hammerickson (St. Mary’s Medford) and Challin Kim (Valley Catholic), both of whom shot a 73 in the first round on Monday. Overall, St. Mary’s Medford leads the scoreboard with 338 strokes, a 13 stroke advantage over Marist (351), Valley Catholic (387), and Marshfield (401)
